When people today look at the range of single-track and multi-track martial arts systems, most see this as part of a range of offerings and a voluntary choice for their leisure pursuits, driven by various motivations.
Most people and practitioners of Bujutsu, Budo etc do not think further about the deeper origin, essence and development of this pastime. They know about it, but don't understand or can explain why? how? when? the development took place and what needs it actually fulfilled in society. They do not consider that this attitude and ignorance is actually in direct opposition to the origin and purpose of Bujutsu and Budo - to develop people to their full potential within single to multi-pronged areas of competence until that person becomes a holistic whole that is uniquely individual as community-wise to the rest of the world.
Most people do not know where to start or start and therefore often start by reading philosophical, technical and historical books physically or via the web and TV, which are specifically adapted to the selection of single-track and multi-track martial arts systems. Others watch movies, TV, documentaries and use the internet extensively about Eastern fighting systems from Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, etc. Others are attracted and disgusted by MMA – Mixed Martial Arts violent, bestial and animal fights in a billion US dollar industry, like boxing, fencing and shooting duels, jousting tournaments, etc. before MMA, which has followed the wing rush of history. People will be entertained throughout the sensory register, dream and have heroes and heroines.
But the truth is that people's perception and definitions of "Martial Arts" are limited by their knowledge and experience in the field, and who they are deep down as people and individuals in public and private life. It can be like night and day - just like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter life often is. If you watch a film, read a book or seek other knowledge, it is harmless and you can dream away, where you are the hero or heroine of your own film and win love, the highest social status and half the kingdom.
It has never been as readily available as it is today and is fully acceptable in the societal norms across most of the Western world. Most often, the level bar of value sets is set through society's heroes, heroines, role models and powerful decision-makers, from bloggers to the entertainment industry to politically elected world leaders over the royal and imperial houses of the old society.
All people can have an opinion - more or less, but it is always limited by the knowledge they have and the knowledge they want to recognize as human beings. The truth is that you don't become happy by living someone else's life, but you do that by creating and taking responsibility for your own life, based on the destiny that your life contains of full potential.
A person is infinitely many-faceted throughout their life and most people always have a broken as a constant search for the meaning of life - the meaning and purpose of their life. Professional fighters had and still have it - throughout world history. Everyone has their existence and function in the social order. But the social order has always changed throughout history. It is the social order and human development that has created the need for warriors who support and reinforce the existence and function of the social order's leadership - in their own social order as in that of their neighbours.
The difference from the eastern and western warriors is that until 1868 the eastern warriors were always from the middle class of society up to the absolute top of society. It wasn't like that in the West - until perhaps the 15th century, but not after. Why? Yes, the social order and thus the requirements for accepted leaders were different. But why?
All this can now be answered in one place – right now and here on this website!
The story of the development of social orders, norms and thus people in relation to Japanese and Chinese martial arts and martial arts, where parallels are constantly drawn to Europe, so that the reader is not led to believe that "it is the exotic mystery of the East", but rather comparable to one's own historical and socio-cultural background in Europe and Denmark.
Everything service-friendly and holistic gathered in one place – on this unique website, which goes against the grain of as little information as possible, and does the opposite! It must be instructive and comprehensive – because that's how the multi-track education was also for the Japanese samurai officers!
Yes that is correct. What we are trying to do is to explain Bujutsu and Budo – martial arts and martial arts based on the actual training as a full human being in the social order that the old samurai officers had to go through.
They should also know what you can read about here - to understand history, learn from mistakes and develop to become a true leader! Not only for themselves, but also for others. It could range from a company to a division of soldiers, over estates to county principalities to kings and emperors over one country to continents.
History is backwards, but serves as a foundation of learning if you have the humility, attitude and holistic comparative glasses on.
Although the website is international, starting from Denmark in Europe and Japan in the Far East, it is directly comparable - especially since society's historical elite has always been the nobility.
We have chosen the development of the Danish Empire, the German Roman Empire and the Japanese Empire, as there are many points of similarity with these, which make it anything but "exotic".
The common crowd is society's elite and thus leaders and creators; the nobility. Therefore, the nobility, sheriffs, kings and emperors are included, and what comparable function these had in the social order, development and creation of this world.
So that it does not become too impersonal and "dry", we are lucky enough to be able to see Japan's history and social development, supported and through the eyes of a Japanese family's destiny and contribution to it. As this family is one of the oldest Daimyo vassal families with origins in the Japanese Imperial House, fortunately for the sake of history continuity, it is possible to experience the fate of this family through more than 2,650+ years with ups, downs, their own as other vassals' major and minor samurai armies, struggle for survival, struggle for power, internal and external conflicts, love and alliances, and their periodically greater or lesser contribution to the creation of Japan's history and social development.
Welcome to the historic "Multi-track Samurai officer training forum"!
SamuraiViking officers – As the general and military strategist Sun Tsu said; "He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight, and Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."
