Shindenkan has 47 years of history in Denmark and a lot has happened since it was started in 1965. Today, Shindenkan is a streamlined multi-track martial arts organization. Our organizational culture is set up in such a way that we constantly strive to do better each time and do not rest on our laurels, despite the fact that we have had considerable success over the last few years on both the national and international stage. There it is good to have both feet firmly planted in the Danish soil, and to go humbly and gratefully to the tasks in the voluntary and unpaid association work.
In Kyu - the degrees of the colored belts, we have successfully streamlined the red thread through two main steps towards the black belt teaching level, which is usually reached after 7-10 years of training in Shindenkan. In single-track martial arts systems, this usually corresponds to 2nd dan or 3rd dan black belt.
Before a Shindenkaner gets that far, he must go through the step-by-step structure with first 8-4.kyu Honbu curriculum standardization education targeted specifically for each degree, after which the Shindenkaner can continue on Honbu curriculum standardization education for Yakami Shinsei-ryu brown belts.
This step-by-step module structure with a clear common thread takes place according to TG groups - Team Groups, which are belt grades that will most often benefit from each other's training, as no one is too far away to not be able to draw parallels to each other's challenges, success experiences and curiosity. There is also the social group element, where you have fun together while practicing martial arts.
The Shindenkan organization is governed according to democratic principles with general assembly elections, both locally and nationally. Because it is precisely voluntary and unpaid work, we have chosen to include all the professional management experience we have accumulated in the organization, so that we can effectively, purposefully, in terms of management and administration and with a broad overview implement the decisions of the general meeting on the work and presentations of the federal board over 5 years strategy and action plans, so there is more time for all the fun – namely our shared passion; Yakami Shinsei-ryu!.
It is therefore an extra great pleasure to be able to welcome a larger group of JokoKidz aged 11-14 to Honbu's curriculum standardization training for Yakami Shinsei-ryu brown belts in a new pilot project which will last until the summer holidays, but is definitely expected to be continued!.
This is the fruit of more than 5 years of planning and work with a focus on the interaction with families and children. Families with children, so that adults and children can train together, but separately, so that everyone gets optimal benefit from the lessons. Children, because they are our future and we all have a social responsibility to take good care of these pods through a healthy Nordic set of values with inspirations from Eastern martial arts, mystery and wisdom, - and which is basically completely normal and universal in most cultures on mother earth. The difference is simply that we try to live up to them through role models, inspirations and mottos such as "Space for everyone, - the elite as the exerciser - You can do much more than you and your surroundings say you can - meet people where they are and take them along a trip"
Since each successive step in Honbu's curriculum standardization education entails a training and inspirational education in greater independence, responsibility and self-driving, with accompanying greater self-confidence and self-esteem, Honbu has provided a safety net for this new group of children of brown belt JokoKidz. Thus, the probability that they will also reach the finish line is greatly increased. This safety net takes place in the form of an assistant instructor for the JokoKidz brown belt team, who is himself a family man and a very experienced head instructor whose sole task is to motivate to fulfill their potential, dojo-only motivate and keep the JokoKidz to the fire in as straight a line as possible , so they reach the finish line happy and satisfied, according to the responsible honbu brown belt team instructor's plan and instructions.
It is a very exciting time for the rapidly growing Shindenkan organization to meet again in 2013. Happy New Year to you all!
