Task Fighting 3

By Mads Thon, Member until 2012

On Friday, February 11, I had been looking forward all day until turned 17, because then it was on Task Fighting 3. we were a little stressed to be able to get to Tjørnelyskolen, as 5 pm is relatively early for us who live further away. But we made it just right. We started with an hour of "theory" which was about realism and not realism in the different forms of karate and martial arts. When the lecture was over, we finally had to enter the Dojo and show what we could do. Since it is the schooled form against realism we are training towards, we were not just thrown into 100 % freestyle from the start. No, we did a lot of kumite with different % power, ranging from 20% to 100%. Right up until the last 20 min. we had randori with different opponents on it, which I thought was clearly the coolest.

2 weeks later it was on the second part of Task Fighting 3. there was no theory, we entered the dojo from the start and trained a lot of kumite, this time we were also allowed to kick. Not everyone had bought shin guards, myself included, so it left some nice bruises on the legs. Since we had trained a lot of kumite with different techniques, we also had a bit of randori at the end. This time we tried to be 2 against 1, as it could easily be out on the street = realistic training. It was a lot harder when there were twice as many opponents than usual.

All in all, a really cool course. Which I would recommend everyone to put on as soon as they can, whatever!
