Jokokan's first joint recruitment campaign

By Jokokan Federation

The member schools of the Jokokan association have just completed their first joint recruitment campaign with a very good result. The joint Jokokan campaign aimed to gather, inform and draw attention to who Jokokan and what Yakami-ryu karate-do is, through Jokokan's set of values and teaching principles. This through visits and experiences of the various local schools around Denmark in the months of January and February, 2004.

We now have the absolute pleasure of welcoming around 80 new Jokokaners of all ages and genders.

We are very grateful for the effort and trust that has been shown to Jokokan and Yakami-ryu Karate-do, which has made it possible for us to continue the success, the spread and the unification of Japanese martial arts under the auspices of Danish and European associations on the basis of the common set of values and teaching principles where all work is done voluntarily and unpaid for the benefit of other people, the local community and society as a whole.

The joint campaign is carefully planned and is based on Jokokan's open communication policy, common knowledge sharing and mutual respect and acceptance of each other's successes and failures, which are always turned into something positive for future use.

The campaign was launched at the initiative of the Federal Board after seeing the benefits of this after the start-up and the lessons learned from several local Jokokan schools in recent years. The Confederation Board then appointed wide national coach Jens Shihan as project manager for this joint project. After consultations over emails and phone, a project proposal was drawn up and presented to Shihan-kai, who all gave their constructive input. Everything was turned and turned in a constructive but heated debate, which led to the best battle plan for Jokokan.

The project group was established with Jens Shihan as project manager, the entire shihan-kai as project employees, the Federation Board as steering group and Federation Chairman Kimu Sensei as the daily sparring partner. We can all be proud of the result and the implementation of the battle plan. Both federally and locally.

With an enthusiastic commitment of the members in the local Jokokan schools, together with a safe project management, the Jokokan association has shown its strength through unity, cooperation and joint efforts, which underlines the importance and test that we can still be individuals in a community if we have a mutual acceptance and respect for each other, and at the same time treat each other as we would like to be treated ourselves.

Jokokan has passed the hard and difficult test through the last three years of culture change and expansion phase. We now know where we have each other and what each individual manager wants and can do, and we have entered the new consolidation phase very well. A warm welcome to the approximately 80 new Jokokaners.
