Even though it is autumn, the sun still exists and shines in our hearts!

Autumn has amazing colors and even though it is autumn – the sun is still in our hearts, right? and why? Well because we are Shindenkan and we know that the future is created by our actions and not what we say or what we think to do 🙂

We know that we all need to take in all the sunshine we can get - because it is autumn and we all have to deal with a Corona situation that we are only a little used to, but fortunately there is an overriding normality in our - for many unfamiliar everyday life - namely the season.
Because the sun still shines and the seasons change in the most beautiful way, and this happens in our fantastic lives.

Therefore, of course, we have had both outdoor training before the summer, and several community training activities so that we have started with the greatest possible positivity - at least that's how I felt.

Because we have a fantastic life - don't we? Despite Corona, we have our community through training that binds us together! And together there we stand strong!

We know that OBC - draws the future.

I don't know how you feel - but I fervently wish that the new season will be a fantastic success for all of us with high competence, great security and that we will return to a normality in our community training.

This is how OBC in Shindenkan draws the future for all of us through a continuous development spiral that maintains and gradually increases the level of competence of all Shindenkan members year after year.

Our new season started in August and I've been really looking forward to the first big training session of the season - namely OBC 5 and especially OBC 4 which is the launch of the long-awaited SKK - Strech Ki Kata 🙂 Because we haven't actually held anything joint meeting since the Xmas training in December 2019.

The Corona developments meant that early in the autumn we took the decision to change the calendar for the joint activities with room for all existing members to adjust to school, work and get normality in their everyday life. But at the same time also to create the absolute best opportunities and to give all new and future members the chance to participate.

The new calendar plan was quickly put in place and was very well received - and thus all registrations were in place before the start of the autumn holidays in week 42. Everything was in place for OBC 5 on 24.10.2020 and OBC 4 on 7.11.2020 and there there were a lot of people registered - there were close to 100% registrations. We were incredibly happy about that.

We were really looking forward to getting started - with such great support from our members, it can only be a success.
In the week after the autumn holidays, it became clear that there would be new Corona restrictions from the Danish government and that this would mean that not everything would be able to be carried out as planned. It became clear to the management in Shindenkan that the possible future restrictions would affect especially OBC 4 with SKK and therefore Shindenkan set in motion with timely care to initiate an advance of precisely OBC 4 to Saturday 24.10.2020.
All registrants were contacted from Wednesday 21.10.2020 to Friday 23.10.2020 and it was clear that the majority of the OBC 4 registrants supported Shindenkan's proposal to advance OBC 4 🙂 It was nothing less than fantastic received by all the registrants - and it quickly became clear that there was huge support from the entire Shindenkan to run OBC 4 - SKK.

We knew that OBC 4 would be a success.

But… it was not without bumps in the road! On 23.10.2020 we held a dress rehearsal for the performance of OBC 4 for the SB training. For that occasion, the leading members of SOPORG had built a podium for Yamana Itotani Sensei so that he was able to teach as many people as possible.

Yamana Itotani Sensei always goes to the 100% limit in his demonstrations and today was no exception! The podium was too soft and unfortunately did not have the right quality and it caused Yamana Itotani Sensei to dislocate his hip!

We salute the schooled approach in Shindenkan - where we always strive to learn from our mistakes, but on Friday 23.10.2020 we hadn't learned a thing!

This would have been disastrous for anyone else, but for Yamana Itotani Sensei it became a learning that he passed on to all the participants at the SB training and a great inspiration to all the participants at OBC 4.

A fantastic and energetic training with Yamana Itotani Sensei and competence at the forefront

Yamana Itotani Sensei had his hip put in place at the hospital in the evening and night between 23.10.2020 and 24.10.2020, and when OBC started the next day he was ready for class and it was a fantastic and energetic training and there was set a high level of competence for all participants.

OBC 5 and in particular OBC 4 was carried out with a safety level at the very top and was the first training session that we have held in Shindenkan since Xmas 2019 - it was a really cool atmosphere and it almost felt like a mini rally - because all participants were extremely positive and happy to be at it again.

Time flew by and suddenly 3 hours had passed with super cool training, intensity and high energy - where Yamana Itotani Sensei poured out his energy, knowledge and details as always. There was room for smiles and attention for all participants – young and old.
A fantastic day with super training 🙂

Afterwards, I spoke to several of the participants who helped to clean up. Jesper from JBA was very positive and exclaimed: "It's nothing less than fantastic to get started again, both the atmosphere in the room and to meet all the members from the other schools! Jesper continues, supplemented by Pia and Mads: "I'm proud that we did it - that we actually completed it - it was just what was needed!".

Important OBC 4 – introduces a New Kata into the Shindenkan Syllabus

OBC 4 introduces a new Kata to the Shindenkan curriculum which also becomes part of the final exams from graduations to 5th Kyu and up. SKK is a toolbox that builds on KataFIT and gives all of us exercisers a unique injury prevention approach to training, maintenance and reconstruction with room for everyone - the elite as the exerciser.

Yes, OBC is drawing the future in Shindenkan.

Finally we took the first step in the national OBC training, and finally a new and super exciting season 2020 – 2021 is really underway. I have missed that and we all need the amazing energy injection that is training Yakami Shinsei-Ryu together!

You feel this a lot when it is suddenly difficult to carry out our planned activities - But together we stand strong, don't we 🙂
On Saturday 31.10.2020, a national activity was also carried out and I must say that it was a great pleasure to meet the Shindenkaners who had registered - it has been a very long time since I have met such great concentration and desire and willingness to learn – it was extraordinarily good! 🙂

Graduations – in December before Christmas 2020 🙂

It is important to remember that graduations will be held before Christmas 2020. The concept is being prepared and it will be held with the highest level of security in relation to the Corona restrictions in force at any given time. We very much hope that it can become part of a training session, because this is in the spirit of Shindenkan, the best way and fairest for everyone. How the concept will turn out, as well as the date and schedule, will be communicated centrally from Shindenkan when the concept is in place.
