The DSF A license was passed on a Sunday and six days later, the first match was shot and POMW! safety-shooting technique playbook exam tested. I IPSC is the world's most famous IPSC club without a doubt; Running Gun, Norco. Some of the world's most famous shooters, world champions and legends shoot here; Michael Voigt, KC Eusebio, Jojo Vidanes, Maggie Reese, Rob Leatham and a large part of the US national team, as well as regular visits from other world champions and legends. They are based at Raahauge Shooting range, California, which is owned by Mike Raahauge, whose grandfather was Danish.
Here the first match was shot, and I was very happy that this first match was experienced together with Jens Hanshi-dai. You can later read Jens Hanshi-dai's article about Christmas time, but I can reveal that I was so pressured to work by POMW! project that I re-allocated Jens Hanshi-dai's leadership development seminar for 5-7.dan - to the USA. This was also part of my 50th birthday gift to Jens Hanshi-dai, to which was added his own payment of DKK 5,000, as well as my extensive discount schemes.
POW! safety shooting technique playbook was tested and served on a silver platter for Jens Hanshi-dai, which resulted in approx. 1,800 good shots and 3-4,000 dry shots in 4 days.
The spirit of Shindenkan is such that we try to fulfill all our members' full potential by taking them on a journey. The same rules for others, of course, apply to all of us.
Therefore, the effect and result of POMW! safety-shooting technique playbook stand the test at an IPSC 100+ shooting tournament with the world's best IPSC shooters on the world's most famous IPSC range.
Jens Hanshi-dai borrowed his Glock pistol from Hawk, an old IPSC top shooter and spec.ops. Vietnam veteran. I borrowed my Glock pistol and rig from Jojo Vidanes, who was the 2008 IPSC modified World Champion and 2011 Team World Champion, along with Michael Voigt and Rob Leatham. Voigt and Leatham are undoubtedly the world's most winning top shooters of all time, and are living legends for more than 30 years.
The match lasted 9-10 hours and one thing we can say for sure; When TV or feature films show spectacular shooting at the highest level, Jens Hanshi-dai and the undersigned have confirmed by personal observation that it is definitely a lie. We now know for ourselves that in reality the world's best shooters shoot – significantly faster and more accurately!.
At the same time, there is also a lot of martial arts about them - as they are actually all very helpful, modest, but all as one, are clear and fully aware of their shooting skills.
After all, there are many of them who, with a big smile, shoot 3 x 6 shots in the A-zone with a draw from a holster, including two magazine changes, against three targets, respectively. 7 – 10 – 13 m, – in under 7 seconds, 18 shots.
Or 2 x 2 shots in A-zone, against three targets with a magazine change at 10 m, – in less than 4 seconds, 12 shots. But in IPSC matches, pistol targets can be completely out at 50 m - Especially in the USA. In Europe, the norm is more like 25 m.
Jens Hanshi-dai and the undersigned took it easy with our borrowed equipment and pistols, so we avoided a safety disqualification at our first IPSC match. POW! Safety Shooting Techniques Playbook, Edition 1, passed its test with flying colors. The undersigned shot 30 % of the later match winner, and Jens Hanshi-dai shot 9 % of the winner, USPSA and IPSC president, 30-40? multiple times world champion and Delta Force chief shooting instructor, Michael Voigt. That the competition was tough was evidenced by a 23rd place for the female world champion - but who also just shot fantastically!.
It was a completely fantastic experience privilege, and phenomenal as a first IPSC match experience – and absolutely worth repeating if the opportunity presents itself.
