November 24 was the day for the season's third Shihan-kai and federation board meeting, and it was also my first main meeting as the new chairman of Shindenkan Denmark, and this season several new measures have been initiated according to Shindenkan honbu-dojo's strategic plan 2015 - which is about local leadership and member development.
Several of the new initiatives were already measurable now, in that in the 2011/2012 season we have started 3 new exciting projects in Shindenkan Denmark in the form of 3 new Shindenkan schools in each Dragør, Sorø and Veksø.
The Shihan-kai meeting in November is also the meeting where all Shindenkan schools report on their performance after the recruitment campaign and the schools' individual goal fulfillment is calculated in Shindenkan's 5 KPIs.
And what a success…
In 2010, there were 665 registered members in the Shindenkan organization. In February 2011, a total of 719 members were registered. In the 2011/2012 season, the first successful campaign in Shindenkan has resulted in a total growth of 19 % compared to February 2011 - so that the total number of members per November 2011 amounts to: 857.
It is then success that shows that the honbu-dojo's strategy works!
Shindenkan has also started preparations for a new epoch-making and innovative project; POW! – Pproject ISLANDld Motter Warrior, which you will soon be able to read more about on the website, and the TG4+ group will benefit from in the new year.
Everyone who works in Shindenkan is voluntary and unpaid because we believe that our values make a difference - we believe that Shindenkan is the place for everyone who wants to practice multi-track martial arts and we want to pass on our knowledge and skills to a new generation on a improved, unreserved and structured way for the benefit of them and us.
Our success also shows that the introduction of the 5 KPIs in all member schools has a very positive effect. But there is still room for improvement in all schools.
For the rest of the season and the upcoming winter campaign, we will be very focused in all schools on making it even better and we have set goals for this.
I wish all the Shindenkan Chief Instructors the best of luck with their results.
Kindest Shindenkan greetings
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Jens Iversen, Federation Chairman, Shindenkan Denmark
