..And kicking, punching and shouting KIAI!. The host was once again; Jokokan Ballerup Karate School and New Måløvhal. Just under 300 participants, led by Yamana-Itotani Sensei, 9th dan, divided with half on the floor and half energetically participating on the benches, the organization Shindenkan karate event was held in Ny Måløvhal on a sunny Saturday in the middle of the busy Christmas season.
The 140 karate practitioners of all ages and genders on the floor clearly demonstrated a will and high motivation, that comfort zones and boundaries can be moved individually through a fun and supportive community across generations and ethnic origins, a healthy set of values and a common passion; Yakami Shinsei-ryu karate-do!.
Smiling faces of both children, teenagers, parents and grandparents conveyed a joy that reached far beyond New Måløvhalsgrænder.
Not least the pride and satisfaction that the organization Shindenkan has now also been recognized in Denmark and fifty other countries, as a special association and partner of DGI and DGI Kampidræt's national organization, as recently published on DGI's press and news section on the website.
Board member and chairman of the campaign committee at Jokokan Ballerup Karate School, Søren Hansen expresses great satisfaction with this event and emphasizes that the organisation's motto and work for grassroots sports; "Place for everyone - the elite as the exerciser" was really emphasized during this meeting, and it bodes well for the new recruitment campaign for a new team, which will run from January 2010.
Søren Hansen further states; That in a modern and stressed time with time constraints, it is a liberation and a privilege to be able to join part or all of one's family in a democratic sports association with a clear set of values, which not only brings togetherness when practicing martial arts together; Yakami Shinsei-ryu Karate-do, but this also spreads to the family at home.
Chief instructor Jens Iversen, 6th dan, black belt in the host club Jokokan Ballerup karate school supplement; "teaching JokoKidz, JokoTeens, adults and grandparents in the same room at the same time provides a fantastic atmosphere, training atmosphere and dynamism with life experience, mixed with the youth's go-getter and overconfidence, and not least the children's liberating, contagious mood, - and more or less festive elements..”, whereupon Jens Iversen bursts into loud laughter.
The convention lasted for eight hours - eight hours that flew by and left all 300 participants in an infectiously high mood, and many thoughts about comfort zones and mottos such as "You can do much more than yourself and others tell you", as in Christmas and the New Year's days just need to be put properly in place before the start of a new year.
