The official opening and display of Jokokan Ballerup's new beautiful dojo in the Nye Måløv hall was a great success.
A sudden and quick change in the official program meant that Jokokan had to present Our opening show right after the main event with the official keynote speakers, such as Ballerup's Mayor Dalsgaard, the mayor of Prague, sixty other notables and 200-300 local Måløv spectators. Then with an introduction by Mayor Dalsgaard of Jokokan Ballerup Karate School, Kimu Sensei thanked him for the beautiful and very clean dojo and hall, and politely welcomed the Mayor of Prague with the hope that he would enjoy his stay in the lovely Ballerup and its surroundings. Then the speech moved on to the introduction of Jokokan, Yakami-ryu Karate-do and the newest Jokokan Denmark School; Jokokan Ballerup with Chief Instructor Jens Iversen, 5th dan and Kimu Sensei, 7th dan as local chairman. With deafening applause, Jokokan's show team was welcomed into the packed dojo, providing further incentive to acknowledge this formidable reception.
Jokokan's display team led by Jens Shihan thoroughly cements this during their well-prepared display, which was later confirmed time and time again by mayors, members of parliament and enthusiastic spectators. Mayor Dalsgaard, the mayor of Prague, other notables and 200-300 spectators praised the show to the skies. You should be very grateful for that. There is nothing better than recognition after a great and serious job. So Jokokan thanks.
After the exhibition, both Mayor Dalsgaard and the mayor of Prague were kind enough to pose for photographs with Jokokan's exhibition team, Jens Shihan and Kimu Sensei. Which made us honored and proud.
Thanks to the Jokokan members who came out and supported the Jokokan Ballerup and the demonstration team led by Jens Shihan. And a big thank you to Sara's sister from Skælskør, who was kind enough to make her photographic expertise available.
Jokokan Ballerup's spectacular and booming opening was only possible through teamwork, planning, hard work and proactivity in the new Jokokan community spirit, which has been created through the tough but life-giving culture change process that has just been replaced by the new consolidation process. It only confirms that Jokokan Denmark IS a federation geared for the future.
Jokokan gives the following displays in the near future; Arena Øresund (June 15-16, Ballerup), Copenhagen Kulturhavn 2003 (August 2, Islands Brygge), Skælskør cultural city festival (August 31) and Jokokan Amager Karate School's official opening (September 3)
