By Jokokan Federation
Jokokan's statutes, laws and guidelines were updated, further developed, compiled and adopted at the general meeting on May 24, 2002.
The basic idea at Yakami is that you can always do things better, faster and more optimally. Therefore, after a vote in the board of representatives with later formal adoption by the general meeting in 2003, we have drawn up some minor adjustments in the articles of association regarding the roles and division of responsibilities of the board of directors and the board of representatives. The effective date is October 22, 2002.
Board of Directors:
The Jokokan association's board is the day-to-day management of Jokokan and has 4-5 meetings a year. At these meetings, there is the status of the various board members' areas of responsibility; new necessary adjustments are initiated and the overall coordination of activities is determined.
Since the frequency of board meetings is relatively modest, this, in turn, requires significantly more from the board members as managers in relation to their awareness of responsibility and motivational commitment.
It has therefore been decided that each school must democratically elect a suitable representative and deputy to the federal board.
It is up to each school to seek influence on the federation's decisions, and it will therefore be natural that their elected representative already has a natural power of attorney and influence in their own Jokokan school.
Each board member will also be equipped with an honorary but effective power of attorney during his board term of 5 years, in accordance with the adopted degree and sanction power of attorney.
The representative office:
The Jokokan association's representative board consists of all active instructors with regularly scheduled teaching hours in a local Jokokan school, Honbu-dojo or in the association, and one democratically elected representative (an alternate is also elected) from each Jokokan school with a graduation degree from 9.kyu to 4.kyu .
The board of representatives meets formally once a year for a meeting where it is expected that the members of the board of representatives contribute with their skills, knowledge and responsible opinion. The representative body is also regularly informed and asked for advice about new intended activities, measures and ideas in Jokokan via emails.
Since the frequency of representative office meetings is very modest, which is not the case for representative office emails, this in turn requires more of the members' ability and willingness as ambassadors, their sense of responsibility, enthusiasm and motivational commitment.
It has therefore been decided that the very important future role of the board of representatives is to act as Jokokan's highest advisory body, to the day-to-day management of Jokokan, the federation board.
It is up to each school to seek influence on the federation's decisions, and it will therefore be natural that their elected representative has a highly motivating commitment and a deep desire to make a difference.
This applies to both members who are instructors as well as non-instructors, as everyone's opinion and active efforts count equally in the board of representatives.
The adjustment must ensure that all members who actively contribute to the community (the Association) also have a significantly greater influence on the decisions and development of Jokokan. The relationship between active effort and active influence is proportional.
Both the federal board and the board of representatives are responsible to the general meeting.
With best regards,
The Federal Board
