Structure, structure and modern purpose

Preface

Hassei-ryu Yashin Mon Yakami no Taijutsu means "to understand and experience the eight gates of the heart, through active physical, mental and spiritual unfoldment of the 8 powers united into one". Today we call the systems Yakami Shinsei-ryu or just Shinsei and Hassei-ryu Yakami or just Hassei. Yashin Mon Yakami no Taijutsu is the collective name for all the systems trained in Bujutsu Kodosoku-kai, including the martial arts organization Jokokan.

The total system; Hassei-ryu Yashin Mon Yakami no Taijutsu is further divided into 3 integrated and naturally overlapping main systems, and an entry system. The three integrated and naturally overlapping main systems each consist of two underlying systems, which in turn are divided into further underlying systems. Each of the three main systems has a Honbu-dojo (main school) according to their level of Yakami-ryu skills and insight. To climb each of the three main levels, the student must go through increasing requirements and tests.

However, all members can at any time choose to "get off the train" and specialize in a previous Yakami-ryu step and pass on their experience and knowledge to the "next generation" and the community. The freedom to choose according to life cycle, talent and will also means that, for example, a Jokokan member according to Menkyo "Master of all the martial arts" can choose to continue training the entire martial art system, or to specialize in one of the four main groups. Before the member is Menkyo, however, the member must naturally and individually progress through the naturally overlapping main systems, and pass on his general knowledge and experience base to the basic entry system for the Jokokan community; Yakami Shinsei-ryu Karate-do.

Honbu-dojo for the first main step is responsible for the full toolbox of Yakami Shinsei-ryu Karate-do (Ryuha & Ryugi) and the true and correct transmission of this to the affiliated democratic organization; Jokokan Federation. The subsequent main steps are not affiliated with the Jokokan association, but rather the Honbu dojos for these steps, as the subsequent system steps require great experience, insight and a higher graded level in Hassei Yakami-ryu Taijutsu.

Yakami-ryu is structured in such a way that for each new higher degree, you have to go through a new practical and theoretical knowledge base. The level and requirements are increasing through all degrees, and the emphasis from different knowledge bases is placed in such a way that they naturally replace each other. You cannot expect to increase your experience and knowledge base if you have to go through 9th grade over and over again. A new and higher level of knowledge is needed, which naturally builds on the previous one. Figuratively speaking, the student must first understand the structure of the skeleton, then the student must put muscles, tendons and organs on the bare skeleton, and thereby understand the meaning, use and function of the whole body and the individual parts as a whole.

Therefore, Yakami-ryu has no "instructor honorary degrees". Honorary degrees in the Jokokan are only awarded when this is stated in clear letters on the diploma. This applies to all degrees, and is probably one of the reasons why Yakami-ryu attracts dan degrees (black belts) from other martial arts and sports systems.

We have the philosophy that you are never too old to learn, and since you yourself go through a learning process throughout your life, a natural humility will develop. A natural humility for what you yourself have been through, must go through, and thereby also a greater understanding and respect for what others have been and must go through. In this way, the pure and unadulterated Yakami-ryu is ensured at all times, and the probability of greater success and standard is increased for those who wish to continue to the next main steps.
