Shindenkan International is an expression of the fact that Shindenkan, through Yamana-Itotani Sensei, was given an International Worldwide License by SST - Soke Sensei Tonegawa no Yukio, who is the 34th Grandmaster of Yashin Mon, the 18th Grandmaster of Yakami no Taijutsu and the 1 .Grandmaster of Yakami-ryu Karate-do. This means that Shindenkan, through Yamana-Itotani Sensei since March 31, 2018, is an independent officially recognized Sodenke organization in Europe and now also the rest of the world. An organization representing the martial arts systems of Shindenkan, Yakami Shinsei-ryu Taijutsu and the martial arts systems of Kaidenkan, Hassei-ryu Taijutsu.
Since 1992, Yamana-Itotani Sensei has been SST's Yashin Mon. Yakami no Taijutsu official system and Jokokan organization representative, and from 1996 the independent Sodenke Stomester in Europe and Scandinavia, including Denmark
Jokokan was founded to "nerd with Koryu Budo and Bujutsu", which should result in as many Menkyo Kaidens (Initiated grandmaster of all the martial arts) as possible to ensure the future art heritage and martial arts tradition for future generations.
In the period 1989-1996, there were mostly only senior practitioners within SST's organization, but with sporadic traditional co-training lessons with other grandmasters from other Koryu (ancient) systems. However, it changed drastically from approx. 1996, when it was rumored what the purpose was and the ultra high level became known. A forum had been created where everyone above the highest level of Menkyo Kaiden had a "Koryu Budo and Bujutsu geek forum" at the intersection of the whole thing - it was clean in thought, word and deed - a clinically clean laboratory. The period from 1996-2007 was the best flourishing Koryu Budo and Bujutsu time in the lives of Yamana-Itotani Sensei and many others.

Bujutsu Kodosokukai was founded in 2007 to cater to the future generations at all levels, both within Sport and Koryu. It was a wish from some of the grandmasters with major sports organizations. It's no secret that Yamana-Itotani Sensei thought it was a big mistake. You cannot preserve an essence by spreading it all over the place. Only people who ARE the essence can spread the essence. But there are many people who are not and understand the essence, and who want to spread everything they do not understand. Yamana-Itotani Sensei was unfortunately right, and it led to a split of the clinical pure laboratory over the next 10 years with the original non-political part and a newer political part. Yamana-Itotani Sensei took the consequence of this and finally said YES after 10 years of pressure from SST to get an independent "division license" under the Jokokan/Bujutsu Kodosokukai umbrella in 2008. This meant the founding of the EU organizations; Shindenkan and Kaidenkan.
The unwritten Japanese Koryu Budo and Bujutsu rule has always been that this always happens when the student is graduated, Menkyo Kaiden ("Initiated master of all the Martial arts"). Yamana-Itotani Sensei was graduated Menkyo Kaiden in Japan in February 1996, but he had no need at all to become a "semi-independent" grandmaster. It is also considerably different with Yamana-Itotani Sensei's background, since his family has been the sponsor of thousands of temples and martial arts systems around their changing county areas, including Yashin Mon, for 1000 years. Yakami no Taijutsu from Izumo for more than 200 years. Daimyo families always sponsored (was an umbrella organization) temples and martial arts systems, as this optimally helped to ensure the survival of their clan, as they could thereby select the best martial arts systems for their own samurai army. That is why many aspiring samurai martial artists in the Middle Ages also traveled around on their "Shugyo shosha - testing and training journey" in order to be discovered and employed by a Daimyo - county lord.
Yamana-Itotani Sensei knew in 2008 that the Jokokan/Bujutsu Kodosokukai had 10 years of unofficial "life" before the SST would retire with the few select Koryu Budo and Bujutsu grandmasters he still wanted to "nerd with". It remains the three original founding members, and SST remains the Soke of Yashin Mon. Yakami no Taijutsu, he is simply, at the age of 80 (2018), no longer the leader of the organization.
Therefore, Shindenkan and Kaidenkan were founded with timely care in 2008, to the great joy and support of SST, but also the other stone masters from the "Laboratory". This has also meant that for the past 10 years Shindenkan has already functioned completely independently in Denmark and Europe, albeit under the Jokokan/Bujutsu Kodosokukai umbrella.
On March 31, 2018, Bujutsu Kodosokukai and Jokokan ceased to exist as organizations, which meant that Shindenkan's legacy is not only a legitimate and unrestricted Sodenke line of Yashin Mon Yakami no Taijutsu and thus 1,000 years of world heritage and cultural history, but also continues the history in Europe, including Denmark since 1967. YOU can now become part of this history.
