Ki & Meditation 1, basic course

By Michael Hallgren, Visitor

On Saturday 30 January 2010, I was invited to a Ki and Meditation Course 1 in Greve by my colleague from Novo Nordisk, Martin Hansen. It was a basic course in the understanding of Ki and Meditation.

The agenda was:

  • Skills in Shindenkan
  • Meditation
  • Ki
  • Use in Shindenkan
  • Yin & Yang.

As an outside karate practitioner (martial art) from Shin-go-ryu Karate in Næstved, I was very excited about what it was that I had agreed to. I showed up fresh in Greve ready to learn.

I think it was an instructive course, which was easy to understand and peppered with many examples and practical exercises that support the theory well. Although I have never had anything to do with Shindenkan, there were no problems following along and I felt that I got the most out of the course.

The teachers were well prepared and they made the material easily accessible to everyone.

However, I would like to be given some of the course material after the course has finished, as this would mean that you could repeat and thus get more out of the course. That should be affordable when you pay DKK 550 for a 4-hour course. Alternatively, you could pay DKK 20 extra to have the compendium delivered. I would pay extra for that.

All in all, a good course with a good benefit.
