POMW 3 abcd – My experiences and experiences for this course

By Steffen Rasmussen, SDKSkyt, Slagelse

This is my third time on this course, I have attended the course in 2015, 2019 and now here again in 2024. It is always educational to take it again as it is with some others this time

Those who are back and myself have become almost 10 years older since the first time I took this course and the biggest challenge is actually that the eyes do not see what they did almost 10 years ago.

Humanity and the world have changed a lot in 10 years, also because of Corona, which I experienced myself on one of the days and had to stay at home due to illness and consideration for my fellow human beings.

Unfortunately, I myself have some challenges with a worn back and a worn neck, so it can be a challenge to be at work for many hours, but good consideration was given to the fact that I needed to take an extra break and get to sit down for a bit .

The course itself is always as good as other courses in this organization due to good planning and good execution. This time we had to try shooting sitting with support. We didn't try that the other times and the result was all the better because it was easier to keep the gun still, but the personal surplus and attitude are of course always a necessity for a good result, regardless of whether there are weapons involved in this or that are just ordinary everyday things.

After all, you have to remember the basics you have learned and practiced, then you can work on from there.

As on the other two occasions, it has once again been confirmed that it is the person behind the weapon who is decisive for the outcome.

SamuraiViking officers – As the general and military strategist Sun Tsu said; "He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight, and Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."
