POMW I

Cleared or not? It's the first thing that you really find plays a role in POMW. If you're not ready to at least pick up a gun in a combat situation, you're in real trouble.

Personally, I'm fairly tight-lipped about firearms, but they must be treated with great respect!
In through our dry training, we as a team quickly learned what it meant to be safe, several quickly got a DQ (disqualified). So even though it's dry training, I have to admit that I think it worked well. However, it was a lot harder than I expected. There must be constant concentration while shooting, and if you don't follow the process that you are shown, then you are sure that it can be seen that you are not hitting as you are supposed to.

I feel that as a whole, through this POMW course part 1, we have gotten a clear sense of what it means to shoot with The Real Deal. One thing that I am sure of is that it is something that can definitely be used in my training. And you can definitely use your training to get better at shooting. As many have found out, KataFit, with everything we do, POMW is no exception. So it's just about getting started on all the things you've practiced for so many hours from KataFit, and feeling they make a difference.

In my case, I had a bit of difficulty getting a proper aim, and I probably still do a bit. My problem is that both my eyes are equally dominant. So I sometimes have problems finding the aim or focusing on the target. It can be a problem to hit when you cannot see where or what you are shooting at. But you learn to manage it as well as possible, and then it's just a matter of practicing everything you've learned.

For the last day at POMW C.1, we finally got permission to do a little competition, and it quickly turns into a boy's ass! You try IPSC, and I have to say it's fun. You get a completely different kind of challenge walking while shooting. I personally could hit better when I was under pressure and didn't think so much there.

All in all, the first part of the course is super good, however there is a lot of theory that you have to be ready to overcome, but it is all something that is important. You always have to keep that in mind. So now we're just ready to get started on POMW the second part. I have good expectations that it will be both fun and challenging. But I'm looking forward to it!
