A new year has just begun and all schools are already busy creating the best year ever for the Shindenkan organization and THANK YOU for that!
Everyone in Shindenkan works voluntarily and unpaid, and this year is actually a very special year, as we can unofficially celebrate our 50th anniversary in Denmark and Europe. This is because Soké Sensei Tonegawa was on a longer business trip for his company for the first time and taught for the first time for two weeks in Denmark.
But officially in the history books, the 50th anniversary will only be dated 2017, when Soké Sensei Tonegawa was permanently resident in Denmark in the period 1967-1974, where he established a Danish and European branch of the karate style Gensei-ryu Karate-do, founded by Shukumine Sensei .
When Shukumine Sensei sent two Japanese karate instructors to Denmark to persuade Tonegawa Sensei and the Danish departments to switch from Gensei-ryu Karate-do to the acrobatic, but in SST's eyes very unrealistic new martial arts; Taido, this was the starting point for the transition from "pure Gensei-ryu" to SST's old family system; Yashin Mon. Yakami no Taijutsu.
However, the contact between SST and Shukumine Sensei continued, as evidenced by many 8 mm narrow films, photos, letters, dinners, SST articles in Taido news, etc. Shukumine Sensei even visited and trained twice at SST's childhood home in Aomori and many short films of Shukumine performing Gensei-ryu and Taido are actually shot by SST's wife. In 1974, SST had been graduated 5th dan Gensei-ryu, but would not receive further graduations from Shukumine, as SST was already training with his grandfather at that time, as with other legendary martial arts masters. In the early 80s, the contact between SST and Shukumine Sensei was at the level of the annual New Year's card.
After his grandfather's death in 1984, SST became the 34th Soké of the family system with the 1,000-year history, and in 1988, SST decided to train and test Kimu Sensei in the old family system, resulting in a passed JODEN, 4th Dan Yakami- ryu and 5th dan Gensei-ryu Karate-do graduation in 1989 in Japan. In 1996, Kimu Sensei passed his Menkyo Kaiden, 8th dan, Yakami-ryu graduation after a week of tests conducted by a group of martial arts grandmasters led by SST, crossing the various martial arts systems. The rest is history - a story that will soon turn 50 in Denmark and Europe.
After the very successful X-mas 2015 convention with 200 on the floor and as many spectators, SOPORG has focused on the following following the decisions of the organization's general assembly in 2014;
The overall decision from GF2014 was that the websites should be updated and transferred on a more agile modern platform and the choice fell here on WordPress. The expression had to be more modern and reflect the times.
- SDKSkyt - Shindenkan Danmarks - Sportsshooters Denmark's Shooting Association is now complete. Check it out! www.sdkskyt.dk
- The international POMW project 2011-2013 website with over 70 experience articles and over 20 official articles is the next website to be completed and released ASAP
- The international SHIELD KISS project 2014-2020, including KataFIT, is ongoing work with a basic platform, but will be continuously developed over the next 5 years. This website will be released in the first quarter of 2015.
- Update of Shindenkan's Curriculum Handbook from 2009, so that it reflects the 2015 conditions. In addition, the print run is 5,000 pieces. sold out from Honbu dojo – Shindenkan's Competence and Development Center, and it will therefore be common sense to update to the new edition.
- The Shindenkan association and organization website on the WordPress platform will reflect the update of Shindenkan's Curriculum Handbook, as well as an update of all expressions and content on the new platform. The security level will also reflect the modern possibilities.
Remember that every journey begins with the first step - and if you are open and willing to learn, the journey can develop into an exciting adventure!
Come and take part in creating and making a difference for yourself and others - welcome to the super year 2015!
