In POMW I, the participants are introduced to the background of POMW - "Project Old Modern Warrior", the history, the techniques and not least the attitude behind the POMW Shooting Techniques Handbook. The participants are primarily introduced to safety, safety, safety and basic but correct airgun shooting as well as dry training of correct technique and setting, both as range shooting, terrain shooting (against multiple targets) and IPSC (shooting in motion).
POMW II moves on to wet training in the form of range shooting, primarily with cal .22, but also with 9mm, focusing on safety, safety, safety and correct technique that can be carried over to terrain shooting and IPSC, and on maintaining correct technique and setting, with live ammunition, despite loud bangs and recoil 😊.
POMW III, is the transition from range shooting to terrain shooting, with a direction towards IPSC, and towards the goal of being a self-propelled shooter. On the way from range shooting to IPSC, a number of shootings must be carried out to incorporate the previous training, as well as the ongoing dry training, and optimize by correcting any errors in the execution of POMW Shooting Technique.
In the execution of POMW 2024 with the updated tools that Kimu Sensei has incorporated, we have worked with shooting sitting in the supermarket setup, as well as standing with commuting.
We have also worked on the rate of fire, as it must increase before actually performing the POMW Shooting Technique.
At the same time, safety and security for everyone must be enforced by everyone, and on the shooting range there are no discussions, as it is about your own safety as well as everyone else's, and one mistake can be fatal - therefore always safety, safety, safety, and you can't that right now, you have to sit on the bench until you are ready for it 😊.
As a regular on the course, as well as part of the POMW Team, who has had management tasks and practical tasks with the setup and execution of POMW III, there are exactly the same conditions as for all other participants. If one does not have the right attitude, as well as humility and gratitude to learn; if one does not follow the process and trust it; if one begins to focus on results rather than on the process; if you don't remember that preparation is 80 % of a good result – Then it's not correct POMW shooting technique. POMW shooting technique also requires that you have a fair self-image and that you accept corrections and input.
ALL the best, at the international top level, are humble and grateful to learn, and have high self-esteem and self-confidence, so that their ego does not stand in the way of seeing themselves and their abilities as they are - without boasting or snobbery - but as they are . Based on facts it is possible to improve, it is not based on imagination.
The results on the disc clearly show whether you are at your best or at your lowest level, and where the lowest level is. And if you are at your best, it is your own task to put effort and self-awareness into the work to change the day's best result to a new bottom level, which you always perform as a minimum - regardless of whether it is a good or a bad day.
In the work of winding up POMW, it is important to ensure good teamwork. It requires real communication and clarification and honesty, that everyone knows their roles, is prepared for them, and takes them, because the most important thing is still safety, safety, safety, and that the participants get the most out of their course.
Thank you for a good POMW course.
