Shindenkan calendar 2012 /2013

Dear Shindenkaners!

The calendar is now released and locked.

It is always very challenging to make a calendar that fits all 1,000+ members and the honbu instructor forces 100 %, - especially in a season characterized by many holidays.

But we have listened to the input that fortunately many of you continue to send us, so that we can constantly optimize and adapt the calendar according to the needs of the organization.

However, we still cannot guarantee possible relocations, as illness and unforeseen events may occur that have an unintended impact on the original calendar plan. But we can guarantee that at least 95 % of the activity dates are fixed.

In particular, the following innovations and life cycles have been taken into account;

· RRCamps stands for RyuhaRyugi leadership development seminars. These are extremely demanding and reserved for Shindenkans;

  • Chief Instructors
  • Senior instructors
  • Masters
  • Senior Masters
  • Grand Masters
  • Great Grand Masters

To be a role model, you must also lead the way and develop yourself. This is the power of example, and an underlining that without development everything comes to a standstill and we all strive to make the world a better place to live for everyone; Thick and thin, black, yellow, white, brown, all ages, social groups and genders, - where we can contribute and make a difference in all modesty; the local community, society and around where we come and travel in the world. We rejoice in what we have in common and are inspired by what we have differently. We know the jante law, but we absolutely do not celebrate and embrace it. Because it is limiting and life is unlimited, and Shindenkan must be somewhere; "Where there is room for everyone, - the elite as the exerciser".

· Black belt leadership seminar teaching is now divided according to TG group, so that the transition will not be too big and a shock for many. It can be experienced as a big leap, coming from the KYU training up to the black belt team, where the pace, demands and learning attitude are constantly increasing. The young JokoTeens in particular have experienced the jump as a powerful transition.

· However, the black belt leadership seminar training will still – where it makes sense and competence transfer – be a joint training. This means that 1st Dan to 7th Dan are taught at the same time, albeit in "separate departments", but still in the same room. It can be compared to Jokokidz and the adult family concept, which is delightfully life-affirming.

· The black belt leadership seminar training is demanding and demands independence and an optimal attitude - every time. But this also puts pressure on new and old students, despite the "new students" having a minimum of 1st dan, Yakami Shinsei-ryu and 2-3rd dan, Karate-do. They are definitely not "green schoolers", - but it can be admitted that it can be an overwhelming experience to suddenly face another student of the 5-7th dan level - in kumite. But the intention and the situation here is not "beating and humiliating", but practical knowledge and competence transfer under optimal conditions. This is completely unique in Shindenkan, – and by the way very Japanese and Chinese traditional. It is important to "forget oneself" and pass on what the student has received. This is delightfully life-affirming and the way Shindenkan is.

· Black belt leadership seminar is planned in mainly RYUHA mini-training seminars where the main focus is on immersion and technical understanding. This can either be Category or Theme. Category is a new curriculum according to the curriculum handbook, which is learned and passed on according to the common thread for everything else the student can do from competencies in advance. It is important that the student can see and understand the connection between the system and the toolbox. The theme is "old" curriculum according to the curriculum handbook, which is upgraded and brought up to the student's current level and competence - Omote becomes Ura - the surface becomes an inner development, understanding and path through known curriculum. Category cycle runs in 2H, 2012 and Theme cycle runs in 1H, 2012. This is an annual cycle.

· Black belt leadership seminar is planned mainly in RYUHA mini-training seminars, so that in a shorter period of time you can focus on new or old curriculum, and "Out of the box" teaching. The black belt leadership seminars take place at the beginning of each half year, so that consideration is given to JokoTeens and young adults undergoing training, and experience often shows that the members are most fresh and receptive to optimal teaching and learning after the summer holidays and Christmas-New Year holidays. Very human J.

· The annual brown belt leadership development seminar convention is an innovation, and just like the two annual black belt leadership development seminar conventions, by both Ryuha and Ryugi. Ryuha is the technical curriculum and Ryugi can be translated as "philosophy, theory, life". The leadership development event is also intended as a good preparation for the black belt seminars, and as TEAM building, inspiring and learning among the brown belts in Shindenkan. The leadership development seminar is targeted at the Honbu brown belt curriculum seminar team.

· The ten annual Brown Belt seminars, the six annual 8-4.kyu seminars, curriculum and competence courses follow the same model as last year.

Welcome to the new season 2012-2013!

Kindest Shindenkan greetings
