New service and greater transparency

By Jokokan Federation

In our efforts to provide ever better service to Jokokan's members and others who spend time reading our website with interest, we have improved the activity calendar with 3 significantly more manageable overviews. The overviews are very print-friendly and are aimed directly at these 4 member groups with 4 individual buttons:

Graduation:
Those who are going to graduation/physical test and want a quick overview of exactly these dates.

10.kyu – 5.kyu.
Those who have the degree 10.kyu – 5.kyu and want to see which activities are planned especially for them.

4th kyu – 7th dan
Those who have the degree 4.kyu – 7.dan and want to see which activities are planned especially for them.

Overview 2003.
The traditional full overview of all activities planned under Jokokan for the year 2003.

The overview calendars constitute an optimization of service through an improved overview of the actual activity offer per member group currently and as you can see in the 2003 overviews, the number of activities in the individual member groups is down to:

  • 5 graduation activities
  • 9 activities for 10.kyu – 5.kyu
  • 15 activities for 4.kyu – 7.dan

The total activity calendar is extraordinarily full in 2003, with as many as 3 extra courses in connection with the Soke Sensei Tonegawa training camp (1 course for 10.kyu-5.kyu and 2 courses for 4.kyu-7.dan).

In the year 2001/2002, Jokokan has gone through a process of change, where we have done away with the myth surrounding "The white Japanese", the European Super Elite student who is more Japanese than a Japanese - because in Jokokan there is room for everyone and this must reflected in service as well as activity level and economy.

Activities and Economy
Fortunately, it is not expensive to participate in Jokokan's activities and we have previously made a calculation of the financial burden over time for a Super Elite student. Prerequisites for this calculation are the following:

  • The student participates in ALL offered activities.
  • The student passes ALL graduations according to the average times described in the syllabus per degree.
  • The student participates in ALL associated curriculum courses, training camps, incl. annual association fee.
  • For instructors, there are no additional costs related to with Soke Sensei's training camp every two years, and with Japan T-camp 2004.
  • Subsidies from the public sector are NOT included.
  • Individual grants from the member's school are NOT included.

The calculation showed for each a Super Elite student and a normal student, that the average financial burden per month constituted

The range of activities in the above member groups is carefully coordinated with the number of members in the individual member group and the number of qualified instructors - You decide for yourself how far you want to go in 2003!
