For the first time, Jokokan Denmark held a training camp specifically aimed at students with degrees from 8th - 5th kyu. The training camp was just over 5.5 hours of training spread over 2 lessons, and the purpose was to develop the individual participant at exactly the level he or she was at.

The registered participants all showed up with an attitude that showed they had come to learn. The training was organized in such a way that there was in-depth work with specially selected parts of the practical syllabus from 6th - 4th kyu, with a very strong emphasis on mental intensity and focus. The training was seasoned with many explanations and new angles for understanding Yakami-ryu's exciting curriculum, which of course was also tested in practice.

As the day progressed the contestants developed incredibly well and as the contestants incorporated both intensity and focus into their techniques, everyone reached a higher level, giving 4 of the contestants new belt degrees.

At the end, individual feedback was given on mental and technical work areas, and it was clear that such training camps were liked by the participants, and the training camp will definitely be repeated next year if there are enough registrations…
